Digital Composite Shot - VFX Breakdown

DIGITAL COMPOSITE SHOT
CGI and green screen compositing
A VFX breakdown of a joint CGI and green screen compositing project with final digital shots and a brief breakdown of production and post-production. Both projects were shot with Sony FS7 cameras attached to a Canon 50mm lens.
For the CGI composite, an existing 3D model of the remote control beetle was acquired as the main asset and Maya was used to match the shot camera with the original camera and and building of the motion path and the environment. HDR panorama, taken using Nikon D7000 with 10.5mm fisheye lens, stitched together in PTGUI Pro was used to light the scene. The compositing, including rotoscoping, colour correction, grading and vector blurring, was done using Nuke.
The green screen project was composited with Nuke using keylighting, rotoscoping and colour correction in order to remove any green spill and effect, while the background was created using Adobe Photoshop.
Finally, Adobe Premier Pro was used to put the VFX breakdown video together which can be seen above.
